The KG2 gas turbine has built up a reputation for reliability and ease of operation and maintenance in continuous duty applications. Oil and gas operators worldwide, both onshore and offshore, achieve dependable performance from their KG2 generator sets. Many industrial customers in Europe and elsewhere rely on a single KG2 generator set for their electrical energy and process heat.

Overall thermal efficiency in these CHP installation is between 75-90 % depending on the type of exhaust heat utilization.

These robust units are thoroughly proven, with over 15.000.000 hours of operation in marine, industrial and desert environments.

Compact and Reliable Standby Systems

KG2 generator sets have found wide international acceptance in the role of standby power systems, especially where starting and operating reliability are of paramount importance. Single and  multiple unit KG2 systems are installed in computer and telecommunication centres, hospitals, airports, banks, with water and electricity authorities, and on offshore platform and onshore compressor stations etc.

These compact, low weight generator sets are frequently installed at rooftop level where the value of real estate is relatively low.

Designed For Ease of Operation and Maintenance

For a compact package, a KG2 generator set is amazingly accessible. But it didn’t just happen.

We have learned a lot, both from our customers and our own field service engineers. As a result, KG2 units are carefully designed and built with the user in mind.

On skid systems are individually modularised and located to ensure easy access. Inspection covers and ports permit rapid  internal inspection. Items such as fuels nozzles and combustion chamber which are subject to preventative maintenance routines can be easily withdrawn for inspection and cleaning.

All this, with a high basic engine reliability, enables KG2 turbine users to achieve an operational availability averaging 98.28 %.
