When it comes to generating power, Dresser-Rand offers three highly
flexible approaches: our industrial turbine generators, custom turbine
generators and packaged geared turbine
generators. All feature sound
engineering and reliability, the two attributes most frequently mentioned
by customers when they talk about our turbine generators.
To optimize power and efficiency, we apply constantly evolving
engineering that delivers improved flow-path components. To assure
reliability and durability, we use solid rotors, durable casings, advanced
bucket-machining technology and digital controls.
We manufacture Dresser-Rand steam turbines in compliance with API 611,
612 standards and other major industry specifications.

Since 1957, Dresser-Rand has designed, manufactured, tested and shipped
more than 2,000 MW of steam turbine power for electrical power generation.
Dresser-Rand provides power generation solutions for industries such as
pulp and paper, utilities, oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, chemical,
sugar and palm oil. We also build equipment for universities,
municipalities, and hospitals.
For industrial power generation we use either single- or
multi-stage turbines with synchronous or induction generators. These can be geared or
direct connected for either 50 or 60 cycle service.

Designed to meet specific requirements
Dresser-Rand custom turbine generators range to over 75,000
kilowatts and can be direct drive or geared. They accommodate inlet steam conditions to
2,000 PSIG and 1,000oF with exhaust conditions from 800 lbs. to condensing.
Solutions include a wide variety of configurations: condensing or
non-condensing; single valve or multi-valve; single- or double-automatic extraction or
mixed pressure designs. A variety of exhaust designs (axial, up, down) allows for quick
and easy installation.
We have the resources to design and manufacture equipment
packages to meet your exact system configuration, operating conditions and output
requirements. That includes turbine/generator lubrication systems, control systems and
safety devices.

The PGTG features a
multi-stage Dresser-Rand steam turbine with a solid rotor, oversized thrust bearings,
high-performance blades and patented PRV diaphragms. A speed reduction gear and a four
pole generator are standard. The auxiliary systems include lubrication, control, equipment
monitoring, steam seal and power instrumentation.

We package specific power output into three quick shipments.
- A compact turbine and gear skid contains the lube system and
local instrumentation panel on a single baseplate.
- The generator/instrumentation skid also includes the lube
piping and terminal box.
- The third component, the standardized control system, may be
mounted remotely.
- Pre-engineered control system option packages accommodate
specific customer needs.
