Today's controls and automation systems perform a variety of tasks that were unheard of just a few years ago. Gone are the days when designs were focused on start-stop sequencing, basic operations, and multitudes of manual controls. Maintaining reliable operations under today's strict emissions regulations requires a level of precision far beyond what was once achievable with past control systems. PEMS, reporting, combustion monitoring and integrated start-stop-malfunction-procedures require state-of-the-art controllers capable of simultaneously handling a multitude of tasks in real time.
We understand the challenges of your operating environment. We have field proven control standards ranging from start-stop sequencing, PEMS, combustion based air-fuel ratio control, plus many other solutions that lie somewhere in between. We take the mystery out of your engine control and automation infrastructure. By employing first principle control strategies and state-of-the-art automation platforms, we can leverage extensive operating knowledge to your engines.

- Integrated Start-Stop-Malfunction-Procedures
- Parametric Emissions Monitoring (PEMS)
Parametric Emissions Monitoring (PEMS)
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provided an alternative to Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEMS) in the Clean Air Act amendments of 1990. Today this alternative approach, known as Parametric Emissions Monitoring (PEMS), is an accepted and proven alternative to costly CEMS systems for monitoring emissions compliance.
The Dresser-Rand team has developed its PEMS based on the operational requirements of the natural gas transmission industry. Using first principle models, we are able to accurately and repeatedly predict NOx emissions while allowing the operating flexibility needed to meet today's challenges. We provide a range of PEMS options from reporting the emissions levels, to providing closed loop control to ensure emissions remain below the established emissions limits. Our field proven PEMS systems are currently providing daily compliance assurance in six states.
