DRESSER-RAND ANNOUNCED that its new technology center in Olean, N.Y., has been awarded LEEDŽ Gold certification as established by the U.S. Green Building Council and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). LEED is the nation’s preeminent program for the design, construction and operation of high performance “green” buildings.
“This is just one example of Dresser-Rand bringing energy and the environment into harmony,” said Jerry Walker, vice president and general manager, Americas and Asia Pacific. “We’ve developed a complete range of product offerings to help other facilities operate more efficiently, reduce greenhouse emissions and convert waste heat and other materials to energy, among other benefits. Achieving LEED certification for our new technology center demonstrates our commitment to greener, more environmentally friendly operations, in addition to making higher efficiency products that minimize carbon and other emissions.”
Dresser-Rand achieved LEED certification for energy use, lighting, water, and material use as well as incorporating a variety of other sustainable strategies. By using less energy and water, a LEED certified building saves money for families, businesses and taxpayers; reduces greenhouse gas emissions; and contributes to a healthier environment for residents, workers and the larger community. download complete story PDF→
