"Through the years, our clients in the petrochemical, gas transmission and gas injection industries have trusted Dresser-Rand to provide and maintain the most reliable machines," said David Williams, manager, reciprocating product upgrades at Dresser-Rand. "We hope they’ll view us as the single source for premium-quality replacement components, available in a timely, cost-effective manner."

The complete line of DuraWear performance parts for reciprocating compressors includes piston rings; rider bands; rod packing seal rings; oil wiper rings; as well as, pressure, partition, and oil wiper packing cases.

Made From the Best Materials

DuraWear non-metallic performance parts are constructed from high-quality unique blends of thermoset and thermoplastic resin-bonded composites such as Teflon®, PEEK®, and VESPEL®. In extensive testing and field usage, these advanced materials have demonstrated superior durability and reliability when compared with traditional materials. Metallic materials such as bronze and cast iron also are used in certain applications.

The performance of DuraWear materials in different gases with different humidities, against different counterface materials has been tested in the laboratory. Results from one series of tests (See Figures 1, 2 & 3.) show the effects of humidity on wear rates of a filled PTFE material, and the reduced wear with TC3 coated rods.
